TOP

I really get a kick out of collecting spinning tops. It started a few years ago when a girlfriend of mine brought me one as a gift. From there I started buying them when ever I saw them, now I have probably 40 or so from all over the world, India, Mexico, Germany, Japan, ect...

Brick building...

Every once in a while I like doing pen and ink drawigs. It just feels good to break out the bottle of ink and the pen nibs and scratch out a drawing or two. Here's one I did a while back....

Tea

This one is dedicated to caffeine and tea in particular....I used to be a real coffee junkie, sometimes I drank 5-6 cups a day but I gave it up. Nowdays I drink tea and everything is good.

Back when I atteneded Art School in Detroit some of my friends lived in this great old house over on Ferry Street. Save those old "almost" dried out markers, they're good for sketching.

New Zealand

This is Rotarua, famous for their natural hot springs

The water is green from all the minerals. This entire area really smelled of sulfar. It just felt so prehistoric, the plant life, the trees, the hot springs. To see a Dinosaur off in the distance would'nt have surprised me one a bit.

Hot spring

The water was warm....like bath water.

More hot springs...

Amazing park in Auckland....

Maori Culture

Eggs and Bacon on Panini...YES!

Everywhere you go there are cafe's in NZ with amazing sandwhiches, big gooey pastries and great Latte's and Cappuccino's.
Even McDonalds has something called McCafe in each store selling Cappuccino's and really delicious looking pastries!

Double rainbow with cows...

Boy, these guys really have it made....

LARGE tree

Wow, what a beautiful place that is if you like blue skys and lush green rolling hills.

Big Gun

I also like to do a lot fo Post-It doodles...for some reason by doing these I get more inspired to do my job??

"Fairly Odd" designs

Porty the "Mouseketeer"

Over the years I've worked on quite a few different animated shows. One of the most fun has been Fairly Odd Parents. One of the things I like about working on that show is that Butch Hartman the creator really gives guys like me and Erne Gilbert (the other designer) a lot of freedom when designing the characters. We were both always pushing the shapes and attitudes of the characters to make it more fun for ourselves, and Butch always seemed to respond in a postive way...he rarely ever changed anything!

When I first moved into my apartment I had this little TV set. When the sun came through the window it created some interesting shadows...

12 quotes from Pablo Picasso --Spanish Painter 1881-1973

1. I drew every day, and sometimes when I felt like it...

2. Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone.

3. Everyone wants to understand painting. Why is there no attempt to
understand the song of the birds?

4. Work is necessary for man. Man invented the alarm clock.

5. I paint objects as I think them not as I see them.

6. In drawing nothing is better than the first attempt.

7. Genius is personality with a pennies worth of talent. Error
is that which chances to rise above the common place.

8. The chief enemy of creativity is good taste.

9. I don't own any of my own paintings because a Picasso original cost
thousands of dollars--it's a luxury I can't afford.

10. I'd like to live like a poor man with lots of money...

11. Every child is an Artist. The problem is to remain an Artist once they grow up.

12. Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.
